Horta

Horta keeps seventeenth-century farmhouses among blocks, the city's most romantic cypress maze and a whole valley with village air at the foot of Collserola.

The Laberint d'Horta

The city's oldest park is a neoclassical garden with its cypress maze: nearly symbolic entry and limited capacity, one of Barcelona's most photogenic, tranquil corners.

Farmhouses and valley

Scattered masies and the historic market-garden fabric tell agricultural Horta: some farmhouses are now calm market-cuisine restaurants. The valley climbs into Collserola paths without transition.

How and when

Green-line metro and on foot: the neighborhood walks in a calm afternoon, best on weekdays. Maze in the morning and valley ramble after: the odd plan that gets remembered.
