The Gothic Quarter

Between La Rambla and Via Laietana survives the Roman and medieval core: the cathedral, the Plaça del Rei and a tangle of streets where maps stop helping. It is the neighborhood you must get lost in on purpose.

The square circuit

Plaça Reial with its arcades and Gaudí lamps, the Plaça del Pi with its painters, Sant Felip Neri with its war scars. The Gothic Quarter is a chain of open-air rooms connected by alleys.

Roman Barcelona

Hours and rhythm
